The Hidden Dimensions of Google Glass

Google Glass’ breakthrough technology seems to have been creating a buzz all over the net since the test/sample devices have been handed to selected trusted persons from the public.

Its basic function as a high-end interface personal assistant enables users to check, receive and send mails, messages, photos and videos online, experience real time chatting, navigation and allow search on Google while walking outside, driving or when your hands are full. While it has been released earlier to some trusted public for test runs and reviews, there has already been apprehensive feedbacks and questions raised by the public against the creation of such advanced technology. Institutions like casinos, hospitals, schools and even restaurants have already banned the technology from being used inside their buildings. Something Portable Both for Business and Pleasure

It has never been more fun to work your way through the lecture and seminars circuit nowadays. Being an educator, I know that I always need to keep abreast with the latest news on a wide variety of topics, not necessarily only in my field of expertise but also in reference to other information related to what I usually discuss. My work as a lecturer has taken me to many parts of the world and I revel in those times and experiences that allow me to mix business with pleasure. Since my task as a lecturer enables me to travel far and wide, to meet new people and learn likewise in the process, I know I could not have found a better job.

The thing is, it likewise gets better and better as time goes by. You would think, having been in the lecture circuit for more than a decade I would have been tired, all whiny and burned out by this time. Amazingly, I am not…far from it, actually. Today’s technology has made my work simpler, easier and more fun. It is always a big plus factor when you love what it is you are doing, and lately, with the many resources available from the internet for my use and at my convenience, I find better enjoyment in doing my work – preparing for my lectures, working on handouts, improving visual aids and even in adding some buzz to my lectures with icebreaker ideas and stuff.
One problem in the lecture circuit, however, is when the slide presentation and visuals, or other similar stuff you have prepared, will not be presented properly owing to incompatibility in the gadgets and equipment being used by the school, body or organization which invited you to be the resource person. This further highlights the importance of having a good projected readily available for your use, which ensures you that the lectures you work on will be presented properly as required.

Evolution of Technology: Things to think about

I can’t help but get nostalgic when I remember the good old days when people use to burn the telephone lines with their conversations, play board games with families and friends, as well as embark on a new outdoor sport in the hope of becoming physically fit. These activities may not have been entirely a thing of the past, but I can’t deny the fact how these were changed by the evolution of technology. In just a short span of time, new-age technology has left its mark on the different devices that influence the way how we perceive ourselves and our surroundings. Surprisingly, some of us can’t even seem to live life without technology. Back in my younger years, my friends and I were fond of visiting our school library especially on Fridays, wherein we borrow four to five books with the help of library cards. With this, I can’t help but wonder if the kids of the new generation are still doing the same thing. Surely, there are still a few who frequent the libraries or else libraries would have long been gone.
